Before you hit send on an email today, take your hands off the keyboard or your phone and rest them in your lap. Take a deep breath. Imagine that you are the person receiving the email. Visualize that person in their environment, in the midst of their day, with their beverage of choice at hand. They are reading the email you sent. What do you notice? What would you like to change before you hit send?
This is one of those tiny tools that seems useless until you do it, so let me know what comes up for you. I did this practice after I wrote this and pictured you all reading it.
